Current WRARA issues under consideration are:

1. Aged Care In-Home Support Changes - Lack of transparency by Whitehorse Council in voting 'in camera' i.e. in
secret without community consultation, to terminate in-home aged care services from 30 June 2023.

We obtained just under 4,000 SIGNATURES on our combined paper and e-petitions. These were tabled in the
Legislative Council on 23 March 2023 by Deputy Opposition Leader, Georgie Crozier.

We spoke at the Whitehorse Council Meeting 27 March 2023 and had many elderly residents holding up placards
   against the Council decision.

2. Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) at Surrey Hills and Mont Albert stations and replacement of both Surrey
Hills and Mont Albert stations with Union
super station, which opened on 22 May 2023. The LXRP encroached on a
100 year old local park with associated destruction of hundreds of significant trees and loss of amenity in local streets.

3. The Suburban Rail Loop (SRL), which involves compulsory acquisition of a number of properties, tunnelling under
  others,
major loss of tree canopy and green open space, SRL precinct planning issues and environmental
concerns, not to mentiongraves concerns over how this massive project will be funded.

4. Issues relating to the replacement of the Whitehorse Centre, which will be the costliest  project ever for the City of
  Whitehorse.

5. State and local government planning issues including rampant overdevelopment and associated destruction of
  trees.
